$11 a night includes 3 games, shoes, and standings. Teams have been assigned; to change teams, cross your name out on posted list and move to desired team. We bowl 9/18, 10/23, 11/20 & 12/18. There's still room to sign up!
The Serenitea Committee
...will be holding a Holiday Boutique on Saturday, November 13 from 10am-4pm. If any vendors are interested in renting a display table for $30, call the church at 589-0624. Church family members are given priority consideration.
CROP Food Drive
... this Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at the Holbrook Stop & Shop (57-01 Sunrise Hwy - north Service Rd west of Broadway) from 8am-6pm. We need four volunteers to "man" two tables outside the store for our shift between 12 and 2 p.m. Please see Al C to sign up.
CROP Walk for Hunger, October 17 at 1 p.m.
The Third Annual Sayville CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Walk will take place at the Common Ground in Sayville. Walkers have a choice of a 1 mile or 5 mile walk. Registration is at 12:30. Monies raised are used to combat hunger and poverty in local communities (25% of funds raised will be given locally to Lighthouse Mission in Bellport, to help them with their food outreach) and around the world.
Having Friends INN at Sayville Congregational Church
Our church prepares and serves a meal at the INN from 4 to 6:30 pm on the second and fourth (and fifth) Thursday of each month. Volunteers 16 and older are welcome and are particularly needed during the summer months as people take vacations. Thanks to our last cook: Linda! Our next meals will be served at the INN on 9/9. See Al C for info.
Seniors' Fellowship
Every Wednesday at noon - come join the fun. The group happily welcomed back Ed and Diane! Last week's game winners were Janet at Hearts and Anita at Ad-Lib. Come Wednesday for the September birthday celebration - just bring your lunch!
Thrift Shop
The Thrift Shop would like to thank all of the volunteers who responded to their phone call and email messages requesting help for the month of September. The following shifts are still available: Saturday 9/11 - 1 full day (or 2 half day), Friday 9/17 - 1 full day (or 2 half day), and one ½ day pm, Saturday 9/18 - 2 full day (or 4 half day), and one ½ day pm, Saturday 9/25 - one full day (or 2 half day). Celebrating the Life of Millie Van Schaick
The service is scheduled for September 19 at 4 p.m. Millie's life will be celebrated with music and remembrances. If you would like to speak at the service or provide something to be read, please see Pastor Rich.
Inkjet Cartridges
We have a collection box in the first Fellowship Hall closet for your empty inkjet cartridges. The church receives up to $4 per recycled cartridge. So thanks for your support, and keep them coming!
