SERAPHIM SOFTBALL 2010
The Seraphim season ended Monday, August 2 with a loss at the home field of one of the league's top teams. Our team had won the opportunity to play this game thanks to a great pitching performance by Ron the week before - almost a shutout. A big thank you to all those who supported the team throughout the year. This was Frank's first year as manager, and he did an amazing job through a combination of professionalism, solid advice, encouragement and an accepting and upbeat style. It was also the first year of pitching for Dave (way to go, Dave!), and the first year overall for Brian and Ryan. While the team did not end up going far in the playoffs, they did make a Christian witness to the rest of the league through good sportsmanship, a positive attitude, home game cookouts (to which the other teams were invited) and a policy of getting everyone in the game, if only to hit, but usually to field as well. Many other managers and players approached us to say that there was something special about the Seraphim, and this makes me proud as a pastor and as a player. We are already looking forward to next year!
